Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital Outreach Program, Nepal

Lalgadh Leprosy Hospital started visiting this remote school, Kalika school, in 2015 to do medical check ups for these incredibly poor children. Most of the mountain families are illiterate, most children don’t get beyond Grade 3 because of a lack of school facilities. Some of the small children have never had coloured pencils or toothpaste and brush or picture-books before. They certainly had never seen a doctor or nurse before!

Lalgadh leprosy Hospital run health clinics as well as bringing warm clothes, schoolbags, books, writing materials, soap, and toothbrushes & toothpaste. These health checks are vital to pick up disease early, including leprosy, which is curable if found early before deformity sets in.
