About Me
Family and Community Background/History
I am a local resident of Banke district in midwestern Nepal. We have 4 members in our family. My family’s occupation is manual labour work and my father is also a church leader, despite being differently abled.
I come from the Dalit caste (outcaste community background). We are a landless family and the land we have occupied is not registered.
Why do you want to pursue this area of study?
Most of the rural health facilities lack medical workers. I want to serve in the unserved communities after I finish my course. It is up to the government to make the decision of where I am assigned after my course. I will work hard to provide access to medical services for the community in which I am placed and I hope I will have opportunity to witness and demonstrate the love of God.
Why you need sponsorship?
Firstly, we have very limited income sources and it is not sufficient to afford tertiary education. Our only source of income is our small shop for mixed stuffs run by my father, who relies on a stick to walk. My father because of his physical disability, cannot do manual labour as he did before. My mother is working as day labourer. My school provided support for me to finish my SEE schooling.
Since our family economic condition is weak and poor, it has become a challenge for me to continue to study my HA course. Since I have been selected for a partial scholarship, I am greatly encouraged to pursue my course. Thank you.
What will the impact be of your studies to you, your family and your community?
I will be equipped to serve my community and country being a medical worker. Definitely there will also be good opportunities to demonstrate the love of God to the lost world. From my life and deed, I will evangelize to the people who do not know Jesus.
Upon the successful entrance to government services, I will have chance to work hard and provide good health and medical services to many people. This work will help me to raise my economic status and also, my service will help to improve the health of the people in the community where I serve.
