Mumiterama Secondary School, Ngara District, has 404 students and 14 staff. It faces a severe water shortage with no piped water on site.
Consequently, students walk up to 7 km to fetch water. The school is on a hill, with no nearby rivers.
The school already has gutters and a small tank, but capacity is inadequate.
MMA is supporting our project partner, the Anglican Diocese of Kagera to:
1. Extending the main water line (approx. 400m).
2. Constructing two 10,000-liter rainwater harvesting tanks.
This will provide a reliable, safe water supply for drinking, sanitation, and gardening, cooking, and bathing.
